We would like to thank Senior Warden David Kershaw and his wife Sue, who opened the doors of their lovely home to Guildmembers and their families for a wonderfully relaxed afternoon together on Sunday 6th September,
After what has been a very hot summer, the weather could hardly have been kinder: comfortably warm rather than sweltering, with just the slightest smattering of rain to remind us we live in England. Perfect conditions, in other words, for an afternoon spent chatting in good company.
David and Sue laid on a lovely afternoon tea. This was followed by an absolutely delicious selection of puddings, handmade by Sue – a real treat that was very much appreciated by everyone who attended. Group photos were taken by Guildmembers and master photographers Robert and Jayne Yardley, who have kindly provided us with permission to post them here.
A warm thank you to all the members, family and guests who came along and enjoyed such a lovely afternoon of conversation and a glass or two. And, of course, a very special thank you to David and Sue for their generosity and hospitality in hosting us.
Looking Ahead: A Trip to the Jewellery Quarter
During the feast, Master Don Young proposed a visit to the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter and its neighbour, the Pen Museum, this October. Further details have since been emailed to all Freemen – please reply if you would like to join the trip.
