Our Mission
For centuries, the Worshipful Company of Smiths, one of the United Kingdom’s oldest craft guilds, has helped forge the creative, moral, and civic spirit of the City of Lichfield. Today, we honour that heritage by championing skilled craftsmanship, supporting education and charitable endeavour, and by embracing innovation that expands opportunity for all.
We remain committed to serving the public good and strengthening our community's life. Through our work, we ensure that the values shaped across ten centuries of endeavour continue to enrich Lichfield and wider society.
